LAMOZIN is indicated as adjunctive therapy for the following seizure types in patients aged 2 years and older Partial-onset seizures Primary generalized tonic-clonic (PGTC) seizures Generalized seizures of Lennox-Gastaut syndrome It is also indicated for the maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder to delay the time to occurrence of mood episodes (depression, mania, hypomania, mixed episode) in adults(aged 18 years and older) treated for acute mood episodes with standard therapy.
Mode of Action
LAMOZIN inhibits voltage-sensitive sodium channels and/or calcium channels, thereby stabilizing neuronal membranes and consequently modulating presynaptic transmitter release of excitatory amino acids (e.g. glutamate and aspartate).

Dosage and Recommendation
Adult: 25-50mg once daily the dose is increased by 100mg daily every 1-2 weeks up to the usual maintenance dose of 300 to 500 mg daily given as a divided dose. Child: 0.15mg/kg once daily initially, increased by 0.3mg/kg and maintenance dose of 1-5mg/kg once daily.
